Message Translation

Read multilingual conversations without losing the original message.

Translate a message

  1. Open the message action menu.
  2. Choose Translate.
  3. Select or use your preferred language.
  4. Read the translation while keeping the original available for comparison.

Preferences and eligibility

In Settings → Account, choose Off, Manual, or Auto; select a target language or follow the interface language; and show both texts or translation only. Translation must be enabled for the deployment.

  • Only regular chat messages are eligible
  • Action Cards, integrations, system events, Artifact annotations, forwards, and Hosted Website operation messages are excluded
  • A source message can contain at most 8,000 characters

Automatic translation

When automatic translation is enabled for your account or conversation, supported messages can be translated into your preferred language. The original text remains the source of record.

Use translation safely

  • Keep requirements, contractual language, and decisions linked to the original text
  • Mark ambiguous terms instead of silently choosing one interpretation
  • Ask an accountable person to confirm business meaning
  • Use a shared glossary for recurring ERP, legal, or product terms

What translation does not do

Translation helps people understand one another. It does not approve a requirement, resolve policy ambiguity, or replace domain review.

One source, visible ambiguity, one confirmed meaning.
